Sony's latest compact charger boasts the company's newest rechargeable battery technology. The charger has a slim design and comes packaged with two AA Cycle Energy "Blue" batteries. The charger comes equipped with advanced safety features including alkaline battery detection and automatic charge cut-off.
Sony's newest rechargeable battery technology seeks to bridge the gap between regular alkaline batteries and the NiMH rechargeable batteries. The Cycle Energy "Blue" rechargeable batteries do not require initial charging and have a very low self discharge rate. They maintain 85 percent of their charge after one year and can be recharged up to 1,000 times.
